Dear hurt/comfort exchange writer,
Thank you so much for writing for me! I'm excited to see what you come up with. My main interests are as follows, and I am open to any of these pairings being written either romantically or platonically:
1. Dana Scully/Fox Mulder, The X-Files (prefer anything from seasons 1-7. Some favorite episodes include: Beyond the Sea, Wetwired, Irresistible, Pusher, any of the cancer arc. Fascinated by the intense bond these characters form from the beginning and any conflicts that arise from the co-dependent nature of their relationship.)
Some ideas include: anything relating to Scully's struggles with cancer and her own internal struggles with how the X-Files have basically become her life. Mulder or Scully provide comfort after one is physically and/or emotionally injured on a case (can be episode based or not). A story where they're stranded on the road or in some sketchy motel during a night that ends up becoming a confessional moment. Either/both breaking down over a case that affects them particularly deeply. (use any of these or not, it's up to you!)
2. Elizabeth Weir/John Sheppard, Stargate Atlantis. (I can't get enough stories exploring the tragedy of Lifeline and these two making it back to each other both physically and emotionally. I also particularly love stories where they're back on Earth and struggling to find themselves).
Ideas include: stranded and/or injured on a strange planet; aftermath of a mission gone horrifically wrong, finding themselves stuck on Earth for whatever reason and trying to cope/trying to figure out their relationship; Lifeline fix-its where either John or Elizabeth (or both) doubt it's truly her; Lifeline fix-it where John struggles with the guilt of being unable to rescue her right away. OR one I've always been interested in seeing is Elizabeth freeing *herself* from Asuras/returning, and having to deal with suspicion/deep mistrust from those on Atlantis who think she's an Asuran infiltrator (kinda like Battlestar Galactica/cylons). (again, these are just suggestions!)
3. Margaret Houlihan & Hawkeye, Hawkeye/Trapper, Hawkeye/Trapper/Margaret M*A*S*H.
I'm extremely new to this show but I've been enjoying it and the fic that I've read thus far. Much as I enjoy Hawkeye and Margaret being at each others' throats, I also love the little moments where they're actually getting along/supporting each other (such as the moment where they work together/save a patient in Sticky Wicket). It would be interesting to me to see one emotionally support the other in a case that ends tragically. I'm also interest in any of the other ships in my signup but don't have any specific ideas; I'm generally interested in them dealing with the hardships/tragedies of war or/and losing patients; whatever inspires you! *I will most likely have watched at least through season 3 by the time of story reveals so feel free to use those seasons as inspiration - I also don't have a problem with potential spoilers/details from later seasons being used.
4. Yennefer of Vengerberg, The Witcher.
So I missed the nomination portion of this exchange and would've nominated Yennefer/Tissaia as they're my preferred ship; however, if you want to base Yennefer's internal struggle on her relationship with Tissaia, that would be a great way to get around the tag limitations ;) I'm open to almost anything though; I'd prefer it not to be a story relating to her struggles with infertility; anything generally pregnancy related is a DNW for me).
I’m really not picky at all and don't have *specific* ideas, but in general I prefer angsty stories, or poignant fluff (happy/hopeful endings preferred). Most of these characters have difficulty opening up emotionally and a strong level of stoicism/stubbornness and it's fascinating to me to see what it takes for them to crack, and be emotionally strong for each other. I reallyyy love emotionally awkward or distant characters either finally breaking down or finding themselves in a position of being the comforter.
Tropes I generally like include: tending each other's wounds, cathartic confessional moments, stoic characters breaking down, hurt character lashing out at attempts to comfort then, only one bed, slow burn, fix-it fic, stranded alone together, friends to lovers, road trips, canon divergence (so long as it generally stays within the world of the show and doesn't go into a totally AU setting), slice of life moments. I like stories that have a heavy emphasis on exploring character emotions/psychology. Since this is a hurt/comfort exchange I'll also mention I'm fine with stories depicting violence/gore/torture.
DO NOT WANT:
Porn without plot (smut within the story/an E rating is totally ok though.)
Non-con
Kinks involving bodily fluids
Baby/pregnancy/kid fic
AU's vastly different from the show (fantasy/medieval setting, coffee shop au, vampire au, etc)
Death/injury of animals
1st or 2nd person pov
As I said, I'm open to whatever ideas you come up with, and my only hard request is to mind my dnw list. Thank you again!
